Jessica Hylton

Co-Founder, Promise Family Pantry

A tireless advocate for the overlooked, Jessica “Jessi” Hylton has dedicated over 17 years to being a fierce voice for the voiceless and a connector of resources. From her early years addressing municipal inequities at federal, country and state level to pioneering initiatives combating homelessness in the South Dade area, Jessica has consistently championed rights and access for various communities. Together with her husband Makonnen, she considers her life’s work to be centered around people, demonstrating an extraordinary capacity to help individuals and galvanizing everyday people to solve their communities’ problems.

In addition to her grassroots efforts, Jessica is actively involved in combating child abuse and educating people around the world on the prevention of human trafficking, Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), Problematic Sexual Behaviors, Children and Traumatic Stress, Internet Safety, Sexual Abuse and Trauma Leadership in Faith Based Organization, and much more. Jessica has served in a official capacity as a Prevention Education Specialist at Kristi House Miami Dade’s Child Advocacy Center until 2021 after which she focused full time on the work of Promise Family Pantry which she co-founded with her husband in 2019. She has trained over 25,000 in the last three years including participants from across the nation, several countries in Europe, parts of South America and Africa

She Certified in Trauma Informed Care for Indigenous communities, Certified Mental Health First Aid Responder, and an international Disaster Relief and Risk administrator. Mrs. Hylton has been focusing her expertise as an public administrator communitay developer focused on aiding pregnant survivors of Human Trafficking and sexual abuse “community with support and community She leads alongside her husband with “A Promise” baby shower where they have awarded close to quarter million dollars to provide resources and baby essentials to pregnant trafficking and abuse survivors thus preventing foster care intervention due to a lack of resources as a barrier to parent successfully.

Jessica, is deeply invested in the development of young women and girls through entrepreneurship and Mentorship. Together they provide a pantry of tools to see families grow and thrive. Beyond her experience in various roles. Jessica is happily married with three beautiful children, Israelle, Promise and Matthew.
