Debbie Grinnell serves as Director of the Lavin Family Foundation, assisting Carol Lavin Bernick and her family implement their strategic giving aligned under the mantra, innovative philanthropy at work. She often communicates on Carol’s behalf with the many nonprofits they touch through their charitable work each year.

In her dual role, she also serves as Director of Strategy & Planning at Polished Nickel Capital Management, the family’s business office.

Prior to this, Debbie spent over 25 years in the museum and nonprofit space. Her experiences in capital planning, exhibition development, building restoration, community building, event planning,    programming, and development have served as an excellent background for her work with Carol over the past several years.

Debbie has been married for 32 years. She and her husband have two children in their mid-20’s. Her son is a CPA in WI and her daughter works in finance in the fashion industry. Her family enjoys escaping to their cottage in southwest Michigan any chance they get.
